First of Three Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals Live with Wellsoft EDIS |

TJUH plans to rollout Wellsoft’s EDIS to its other two locations – Methodist and Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience Somerset, NJ – April 26, 2010 – Wellsoft Corporation today announced that the first of three Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals (TJUH) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is live with its Emergency Department Information System (EDIS). The Center City Campus of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital provides emergency care for over 59,000 patients each year. Wellsoft EDIS features live in the Center City Campus include Patient Tracking, Registration Tracking, Order Tracking, Results Reporting, Medication Reconciliation, Drug/Drug and Drug/Allergy Checking, Electronic Nursing, Physician and Resident Clinical Documentation, Automatic Faxing, Image Capture and Patient Aftercare/Disposition Summaries and Prescriptions, Clinical Decision Support and automated Risk Management Alerts, automated E&M Scoring, as well as Unresolved Issues Tracking. HL7 Interfaces to hospital wide and ancillary systems include ADT and Inbound Laboratory and Radiology Results, as well as outbound patient location and disposition status updates. With Wellsoft EDIS, TJUH has replaced manual and paper processes. Immediate benefits realized since Go-Live in March, 2010, include: “at a glance” patient status, risk management alerts and threshold notifications, real-time graphical ED status “dashboard,” automated data collection, reporting and simultaneous access to electronic patient charts by clinicians and consulting specialists. The unique needs of the hospital’s Level 1 Trauma Center and the organization’s residency program have been easily addressed. TJUH plans to rollout Wellsoft’s EDIS to its other two locations – Methodist and Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience - improving the efficiency and quality of patient care in the ED. With all 3 facilities utilizing Wellsoft’s EDIS, TJUH will be able to capture, aggregate and report on patient data for all TJUH hospitals from a single location while supporting the unique needs of each facility.
