John Santmann, M.D., CEO and President
Dr. Santmann is an Emergency Physician and the visionary leader behind Wellsoft. He founded the company in 1988 to improve patient care and make a difference in the challenging environment of Emergency Medicine. As President and one of Wellsoft’s key developers, Dr. Santmann has provided clear direction since the inception of Wellsoft. This direction has been critical to the successful growth Wellsoft has achieved.
Dr. Santmann completed his undergraduate degree with honors at Johns Hopkins University in 1977 and graduated from Washington University Medical School in 1982. His Emergency Medicine Residency was completed at Norfolk General Hospital, and he has practiced Emergency Medicine in various hospitals throughout San Francisco, St. Louis, and New Jersey.
Christie Guthrie, Chief Operating Officer
Christie is in charge of day-to-day operations, along with oversight and management functions across the company. She is responsible for continuing to build and implement company strategies, and develop strategic business initiatives for the company. She is a proven leader and brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare IT with a history of building, managing and leading highly successful organizations and projects. Prior to being named COO, Christie was the Executive VP of Sales and Marketing at the company. She has also held positions at NextGen Healthcare as VP of Program Management and VP of Sales, Healthcare Management Systems (now MedHost), McKesson, Eclipsys (now Allscripts) and other leading healthcare organizations.
Jack Spence, VP of U.S. and Global Sales
Jack is responsible for the company’s sales efforts, including developing strategies to drive revenue growth both in the U.S. and internationally. He brings a wealth of knowledge and decades of leadership experience and expertise in healthcare technology sales and management. Prior to his role at Wellsoft, Jack held critical management roles at many national healthcare organizations including T-System, veEDIS, patientkeeper, and Eclipsys (now Allscripts). Jack has a BA in Business Administration and Management from Arkansas State University, and is involved in several professional and industry organizations.
Matthew Weintraub, RN, BSN, CEN, PHRN, Executive VP of Product Management and CNIO
Matthew has spent his career working in Emergency Medicine in various roles - from patient care to teaching and other leadership roles. He's been with Wellsoft since 2000, working with many of our clients to successfully implement Wellsoft EDIS in large academic medical centers, children's specialty hospitals and multi-facility healthcare organization settings. Matthew also leads Wellsoft's strategy, alignment, product development, and certification efforts for Meaningful Use (MU), and has helped many Wellsoft clients develop and deploy their MU strategies.
In addition to remaining clinically active in emergency medicine, Matthew is an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), the Emergency Informatics Association (EIA), Integrating the Healthcare Exchange (IHE), Health Level 7 (HL7), and was selected to serve on the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology's (CCHIT) Emergency Department Workgroup from 2008 - 2011. The synergy of Matthew's knowledge of systems and Emergency Medicine make him a highly respected expert in EDIS.
Emil B. Jimenez, M.D., VP CMIO
Dr. Jimenez started at Wellsoft in 2003 as a Clinical Implementation Manager. He has since been promoted to VP CMIO, where he provides valuable direction on the company’s clinical and technological innovations, and helps drive feature, usability and product enhancements. Additionally, Dr. Jimenez has been instrumental in expanding Wellsoft’s presence globally. His background includes vast experience both as a practicing physician and healthcare IT professional. He earned his Medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and is in now in the process of getting his Master’s Degree in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey.
Marilyn J. Roper, MD MBA, VP of Development and Implementation
Dr. Roper, a board-certified anesthesiologist with a computer programming background, has been extensively involved in Wellsoft EDIS development, configuration, clinical enrichment, implementation, education, and consultation since 2003. Dr. Roper graduated from UCLA School of Medicine and from the University of Rochester Simon Business School. She completed an anesthesiology residency at Stanford and a cardiac anesthesia fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. She’s practiced both as an emergency medicine physician and as an attending anesthesiologist.
John D. Kostenbader, NREMT- P, VP of Implementation Services
John oversees the delivery and support of our innovative solutions to Wellsoft clients. Thanks to John and his team, Wellsoft’s support and services are ranked best of the best year after year according to an independent industry survey. John started out at Wellsoft in 2006 as the senior project manager before being promoted to VP of Implementation Services. Prior to joining Wellsoft, he was a full-time Flight Paramedic with University Medevac at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. John’s 15 years of flight medicine as well as 6 years of ground paramedic work bring well-defined experience in Emergency Medical Services. In addition to John’s clinical role, he developed and wrote several EMS and emergency department specific applications bringing together the worlds of clinical medicine and IT.
